Dead-Ass Proposal of the Week-- January 2nd

                     Here's a Dead-Asser that illustrates how much things have changed in good ol' Philadelphia in the last 15 years. When this crazy motherfucker was proposed, it was considered a MAJOR building that would change the skyline forever. The largest building proposal for the city in a decade and the tallest construction project in Washington Square West in 7 decades. Nowadays, this proposal would fall into the shuffle of ~130 projects now in some stage of development in the city.

Way back, when the Western Union building was still a boarded up shell and the 2-story structure that stood where Walgreen's is today (and the best latenight diner, The Savoy, once stood), I remember hearing that Jeff was proposing a research facility that started at 11th & Locust as a 2-story structure and then grew to several when it reached Camac (this included tearing down the WUB). I wonder if this was a larger modification of what was planned for that sight...
