While I don't think ...I totally agree overall. While I don't think the MSB is the worst building the in city, there is so much wrong with all of the bullshit that surrounds it that it makes for a horrific whole. The truly worst parts are the pointless game pieces ("SORRY! CITY GOVERNMENT IS REALLY SHITTY HERE! lol, we're not really sorry."), that ugly statue, and - as you well pointed out - the statue of Frank Rizzo, who was probably our worst mayor ever except for maybe Wilson Goode. This "plaza" is a granite and concrete wasteland.

If the City had half a sense for culture... or travel... or business... or common sense, they would sell the rights to have one or two plaza cafes for the MSB. They should do the me thing for City Hall's courtyard and also Dilworth Plaza. They do this all the time in Germany from what I have seen. People should do more than pass through public spaces - they should use them. And if you can make money off of it, why not? These businesses won't balance the budget, but they can help and they also help fight the false stereotype that is the neanderthal Philadelphian.

And if we can do that, we can greatly boost the tourism portion of our local economy. International tourism has been increasing greatly in Philadelphia and that is a great thing. There is no reason why Philadelphia should not be considered a wold class destination. Let's realize our potential.NickFromGermantownhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08260423320053215796noreply@blogger.com
